About Young Scholars Program

In the Philippines, many promising students don't have the family resources to stay in school.  We work to identify students in this situation and provide sponsorships for food, transportation and school clothes so they can stay in school with the hopes of improving their future.  Meet some of our young scholars below.


It currently costs about $50 per month per child.  Click below if you're interested in sponsoring one or more students.  Overhead is covered 100% by Blue Ocean so that all donated funding goes to the students.

Young Scholars

Rochelle

  

Age: 13

Grade:  7th grade

Location:  Luzon, Philippines

 
 

Rochelle is a bright, eager young student. She is in the 7th grade and is currently ranked second in her class. Rochelle likes sports and dancing.

Rochelle's father works and lives in a city 8 hours away to provide for their family. Funds are limited to provide for her school and transportation needs. Blue Ocean Humanitarian has been funding her education since 2017.

Nancy

  

Age: 13

Grade:  7th grade

Location:  Luzon, Philippines

 
 

Nancy is a gregarious 13 year old.  She is in the 7th grade and is currently ranked first in her class. Nancy has a beautiful voice and loves to sing.


 The family struggles to pay the rent on their small, dirt floored home.  When we learned about Nancy, her mother was about to remove her from school so she could help earn money to support the family.   Blue Ocean Humanitarian has been funding her education since late 2017.
